The Head of the Legal Affairs Department at Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Abdul-Amir Taha, participated as a member of the examination committee for a PhD dissertation in Private Law at the College of Law, University of Karbala. The dissertation, submitted by researcher Muayyad Ali Hilal, was entitled “Good Faith in Smart Contracts: A Comparative Study.”

The dissertation examined the concept of good faith in smart contracts, addressing its legislative, philosophical, and jurisprudential foundations, as well as its preventive and remedial roles amid rapid technological developments and their impact on transactions and contractual relationships.

The study highlighted the importance of good faith as a fundamental ethical principle governing civil transactions. It also emphasized the need to regulate smart contracts within Iraqi civil law, given their advantages and compatibility with the nature of contemporary transactions, including saving time and effort and reducing human error.
