Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, was honoured by Prof. Dr. N'eem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during the Academic Researcher 2024 Festival and its ceremony honouring distinguished women. It bears noting that the said event comes in recognition of her distinguished efforts and continued support for the advancement of education in Iraq through Al-Zahraa University for Women, one of the leading institutions established by Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.
Additionally, the event was organised by Al-Ain Iraqi University for Academic Researchers in cooperation with Elsevier, an international organisation dedicated to advancing knowledge and providing support to institutions that promote research and innovation, with particular focus on technology, health, and scientific research. Besides, Elsevier is a leading provider of knowledge-based solutions in the fields of science, medicine, and technology.
Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani was honoured in recognition of her notable achievements and successive successes throughout her five-year tenure as President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, as well as her outstanding efforts and effective contributions to supporting the advancement of education in Iraq.
Throughout her tenure, she has made tangible contributions to the development of the University, reflected in its achievements and progress in international educational standards. Her efforts have established an inspiring path of excellence that serves as a role model for ambitious women in society.
In his address at the event, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Al-Dhahd, Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Affairs, praised the efforts of academic researchers and highlighted the significant role of scientific research in developing effective solutions to many challenges facing society and institutions. He also commended the remarkable progress achieved in this field.
The initiative by Al-Ain Iraqi University, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Shafeeq Shakir Shafeeq, represents a distinguished and significant contribution to supporting the advancement of education and academic researchers. It also makes an important contribution to empowering women in academia and encouraging greater dedication and effort in the service of science and knowledge in Iraq, supporting the country’s pursuit of advancement and its aspiration to join the ranks of leading nations in higher education.
