Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, affirmed the importance of women and their significant role in building peaceful coexistence and social harmony.
She made the remarks during a lecture delivered at the headquarters of Ahl Al-Bayt Foundation in Madrid, Spain, in the presence of a representative of the Iraqi Embassy in Madrid and a number of figures from Arab and foreign communities.
In her address, Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani stressed the importance of educating and raising women’s awareness in an optimal manner through scientific and academic institutions that support women in confronting extremist ideas and contributing to the promotion of peaceful coexistence within societies, both at present and for future generations.
She also highlighted the role of the Holy Shrines, particularly Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, in providing support and assistance through the establishment of Al-Zahraa University for Women, which is regarded as the first University dedicated to women, in addition to numerous health, educational, academic and cultural centres and institutions that serve women across various fields.
The visit by the University delegation to the Foundation forms part of the delegation’s visits to academic and religious institutions across Europe, including Spain. Furthermore, the visits aim to conclude cooperation agreements with international universities, strengthen cooperation with Iraqi embassies in Europe, and attract religious and academic figures to participate in cultural events and festivals, including Kawthar Al-'Ismah Festival and the Spring of Martyrdom Festival, organised by Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and Al-Zahraa University.
