Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, secured first place in the elections of university presidents for the Private Higher Education Council, held on Saturday, 11 November 2023, at Al-Hakim Hall, University of Baghdad. It bears noting that the said event comes as a new scientific achievement added to the distinguished record of Al-Zahraa University for Women, and in recognition of its continuous pursuit and dedicated efforts to strengthen its academic standing and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.
Commenting on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani stated that securing first place in these elections represents a significant achievement that the University has long strived to accomplish. She emphasised that this victory is a victory for the name and status of Lady Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her), both as a name and as a symbol, expressing her hope that the name of Al-Siddiqah (Lady Al-Zahraa) would remain held in high esteem and that the University bearing her name would continue to reflect its eminence and nobility at all times and in all places, Allah(swt) willing.
She further expressed her profound gratitude to His Eminence the Legitimate Overseer of the Affairs of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine for his substantial support and continued generosity towards the University. She stressed the need to redouble efforts and strengthen cooperation in order to preserve the prestige of this revered name and its exalted status before Allah(swt) She also noted that, following this achievement, the University would have an active and influential presence in the Council’s future work, activities, and programmes.
It is worth noting that the top three positions were secured by the following university presidents: Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, in first place; Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Al-Dahan, President of Al-Kafeel University, in second place; and Prof. Dr. Kadhim Abboud Al-Majidi, President of Ashur University, in third place.
