The Women’s Empowerment Division organised the international forum “Women of Al-Aqsa” on Saturday, 11 November 2023, at the University’s Central Conference Hall. Additionally, the said event was under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women.

The forum commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a moment of silence in remembrance of the martyrs of Iraq and Palestine and the national anthem. Prof. Dr. Hawra' Al-Rub'ie, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, then delivered the opening speech, welcoming the participating delegations and addressing topics and themes directly related to the Palestinian cause, supporting it, and expressing full solidarity with Palestinian women. She highlighted the importance of unifying positions and efforts in confronting obstacles and difficulties.

The programme of the “Women of Al-Aqsa” forum included a video presentation documenting the violations and massacres committed by the Zionist forces against Palestinian women and children, as well as a speech delivered by the delegation of the University of Tehran. The forum also featured the participation of female academics from Iraqi and international universities.

The forum was organised as an expression of solidarity with and support for Palestinian women in Gaza, and in support of the position of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Al-Sayyid Ali Al-Husseini Al-Sistani (May Allah Protect Him), regarding the Palestinian cause, as expressed in his supportive statement calling for the restoration of the Palestinian people’s usurped rights. The statement urged the responsible religious authority to stand against brutality and prevent the occupation from continuing to implement its plans to inflict further suffering upon the oppressed Palestinian people.

It is worth noting that Al-Zahraa University for Women had previously organised solidarity and protest vigils in condemnation of the recent Zionist massacres against the Palestinian people.
