Al-Zahraa University for Women received His Excellency Ali Riza Gunay, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Iraq, on Wednesday, 8 November 2023. He was accompanied by Dr. Ala' Dia' Al-Din, Deputy Secretary-General of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, and a delegation comprising diplomatic and academic figures. Furthermore, the said event comes as part and parcel of the visits organised by Imam Hussein Holy Shrine for diplomatic delegations and missions in Iraq to its various institutions, and in its efforts to establish international cooperation in the academic field.

The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Ali Al-Asadi, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hawra' Hassan Al-Rub'ie, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, and a slew of heads of departments and senior University staff.

The visit aimed to provide the delegation with an overview of the educational process and infrastructure at the University, as well as to discuss the conclusion of future agreements concerning the exchange of academic and scientific experience between the two countries.

For his part, His Excellency Gunay to Iraq expressed his pleasure at seeing an academic institution dedicated to women in Holy Karbala, emphasising the endeavour to establish branches of Turkish universities in Iraq and exchange academic and scientific expertise.

It is worth noting that the efforts undertaken by the Holy Shrine in the fields of education, higher education, and international relations represent an important experience towards achieving regional and global leadership.
