Al-Zahraa University for Women inaugurated the second edition of its Holy Qur'an Memorisation Project. The ceremony was attended by a slew of religious and academic figures, as well as female students of the University, at Umm Abiha Hall on Tuesday, 31 October 2023. Additionally, the said event was under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, and in cooperation with Al-Qur'an House affiliated with Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.

The inauguration ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by female student Zainab Muthanna, followed by a moment of silence in tribute to the souls of the martyrs of Iraq and Palestine, and the performance of the “Nida' Al-‘Aqeedah” nasheed (Call to Faith).

Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani then delivered a speech highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of memorising and disseminating the Holy Qur'an among female students of the University.

Dr. Al-Sheikh Khair Al-Din Al-Hadi, the Director of the Holy Al-Qur'an House Department, also delivered a speech in which he commended the University’s cooperation and commitment to the Qur'anic project through providing all the necessary requirements for its implementation.

This was followed by a video presentation detailing the Qur'anic project at the University, and a poetry recital by female student Intithar Wathiq. The ceremony concluded with a supplication for the Awaited Imam through Dua' Al-Faraj (Supplication for Relief).

Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani, accompanied by Dr. Al-Hadi, Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Ali Al-Asadi, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and a slew of attendees, proceeded to inaugurate the Qur'anic Memorisation Unit at the University.

It is noteworthy that the Qur'anic Memorisation Project Kuni Raihana (Be a Fragrant Flower), at the University offers a range of benefits, including reductions in tuition fees for female students who memorise the Holy Qur'an, with discounts reaching up to 100 per cent tuition fee exemption.
