The Presidency of Al-Zahraa University for Women announced that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research had approved the establishment of two new departments within the Faculty of Education at the University.
Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, stated that the Ministry had approved the establishment of the Special Education and Art Education Departments, following the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, with its two departments, Artificial Intelligence Engineering and Cybersecurity Engineering, which are included in the Ministry’s admissions guide for the current academic year.
Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani confirmed that the newly established faculty and departments would admit female students as part and parcel of the University’s admission plan for the 2023–2024 academic year, noting that the University was fully prepared to receive them.
She further noted that the University Presidency would cooperate with Al-Sibtain Academy for Developmental Disorders, affiliated with Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, to create employment opportunities for graduates of the new department, in response to the growing demand for specialists in special education. These specialists are needed to support gifted individuals with exceptional intellectual abilities and young people with developmental disorders, while also helping address the shortage of specialised graduates in the labour market across various institutions.
