Fifth-year students at the College of Pharmacy, Al-Zahraa University for Women, took the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) on Tuesday, following the completion of an intensive clinical training program conducted during the summer break. The program aimed to strengthen students’ practical skills and enhance their professional readiness.

 

Prof. Dr. Noor Hatif Al-Dabbagh, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, stated that the OSCE is a modern assessment method designed to evaluate clinical competencies. It measures students’ ability to apply their scientific knowledge in managing clinical cases and making appropriate therapeutic decisions, while also assessing their communication and clinical reasoning skills. She emphasized the importance of practical training in preparing competent pharmacists capable of meeting the demands of professional practice.

 

The examination consisted of a series of assessment stations simulating real-life clinical scenarios. Students were evaluated on their ability to apply scientific knowledge, manage clinical cases, and communicate effectively with patients, contributing to the development of their clinical competence and the enhancement of the quality of pharmaceutical care.
