The President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, signed a scientific cooperation memorandum of understanding with the President of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Reza Rais Karami, aimed at strengthening academic and scientific cooperation and establishing a postgraduate program at the College of Pharmacy in the field of Drug Regulatory Affairs.

 

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Kourosh Jafarian, Vice President for International Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ensieh Khazali, former Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Women and Family Affairs, along with a number of academics and representatives of the scientific community.

 

Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani stated that the memorandum represents an important step toward expanding scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities, particularly in the field of postgraduate studies. She noted that the establishment of the program is part of the University’s efforts to develop its academic disciplines and enhance the quality of higher education.

 

Al-Sultani explained that the agreement includes plans to establish a twinning partnership between the Colleges of Pharmacy at both universities, facilitate the exchange of scientific and academic expertise, and benefit from the research capabilities and specialized expertise of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, given its distinguished academic standing and presence in international rankings. She further emphasized that the procedures for establishing the postgraduate program are based on official approval obtained from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

 

In the same context, Al-Sultani noted that a specialized meeting will be held in the coming days between Prof. Dr. Noor Hatif Al-Dabbagh, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University for Women, and the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The meeting will focus on completing the academic and technical procedures required to establish the program and activating further areas of cooperation and academic twinning between the two colleges.
