On the occasion of Iraqi Engineer's Day, the College of Engineering and Information Technology extends its warmest congratulations and blessings to all Iraqi male and female engineers, in appreciation of their vital role in the journey of reconstruction, development, and scientific progress, as well as their outstanding contributions across various engineering, technological, and service sectors.
In this context, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghada Al-Mulla, stated that Iraqi engineers represent creative national talents who have continuously contributed to achieving milestones and keeping pace with modern advancements. Engineering and Information Technology Faculty in cooperation with Women’s Affairs Division organized the inaugural Annual Girls’ Day Festival under the slogan “Together We Make a Difference.” The said event was held under the patronage of the General Secretariat of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and the supervision of Prof. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President. The festival was marked by the presence of a ministerial delegation, represented by Dr. Nada Al-Abidi, Head of Women’s Affairs Division/Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In her speech, Dr. Al-Abidi affirmed that Al-Zahraa University was the leading contender for the UNESCO Chair for Women due to its outstanding achievements and remarkable presence at various national and international forums. She also highlighted the vital role of women in building society and stressed that female students represent hope for the future and agents of change, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence. In her address, Prof. Dr. Ghaida’ Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mulla, Dean of Engineering and Information Technology Faculty expressed pride in the accomplishments of female students, reaffirming the Faculty’s commitment to supporting and empowering women academically and in research. Asst. Lect. Manal Abd Al-Amir, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division at the University, also praised female students’ creative achievements, commending their determination to pursue academic and societal excellence. The festival featured a range of female student engineering projects that reflected contemporary technological and technical advancements across various fields, including architecture, cybersecurity, mobile computing, as well as artificial intelligence. The event also included a theatrical performance addressing the impact of modern technology on different aspects of life, alongside inspiring success stories of female students who overcame challenges and achieved significant milestones. It is significant to point out that the University affirms its ongoing commitment to nurturing young talents and empowering women across scientific and cultural arenas, proudly acknowledging all efforts made to support and enhance women’s roles in advancing the workplace and serving the nation.
