Under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaida Al-Mulla, the Department of Architecture Engineering organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled (From Idea to Concept), delivered by lecturer M.M. Yousef Abbas Yousef, as part of efforts to enhance students’ intellectual and design capabilities.

The workshop addressed the scientific foundations of generating an architectural idea for a project, highlighting its characteristics and components, as well as the mechanisms for transforming it from an initial mental image into a fully developed design concept (Concept) that is consistent with environmental, functional, and aesthetic requirements.

It also examined strategies for developing architectural ideas and methods for refining and advancing them through creative thinking techniques and critical analysis.

In addition, the workshop provided an in-depth discussion on the role of modern technologies in generating and shaping architectural ideas, supported by leading international examples. This contributed to broadening the students’ perspectives, linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, and strengthening their ability to produce innovative architectural designs aligned with contemporary developments.
