College of Engineering Envisions Tomorrow: A Specialized Workshop on Smart Cities of the Future
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa (PBUH) University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Abdul Hussein Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaida Al-Mulla, the college— in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center—organized a scientific workshop entitled:
"AI for Earth: Sustainable Intelligence for Future Cities"
Artificial Intelligence for Earth – Sustainable Intelligence for Future Cities
The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Al-Khafaji, Head of the Cybersecurity Department at the college, along with lecturers from the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Kufa: Assistant Professor Dr. Abbas Mohammed Ali Hussein and Lecturer Maytham Kareem Naeem.
The speakers addressed the role of artificial intelligence technologies in developing future cities and supporting environmental sustainability, as well as managing resources in smart and efficient ways. The workshop also highlighted major global trends in employing AI to serve urban infrastructure and in building cities capable of facing technological and environmental challenges through innovative solutions based on advanced technologies.
This workshop comes as part of the college’s strategy to keep pace with modern technological developments, enhance students’ scientific and research capabilities, and support the academic environment through specialized programs that contribute to advancing engineering and technological education.
