About Digital Design Engineering Department
The Department of Digital Design Engineering at Al-Zahraa (a.s.) University for Women is a pioneering academic hub and an interactive environment specifically designed to keep pace with the rapid technological revolution and meet the needs of modern creative industries.
The department's academic program is distinguished by its comprehensiveness and depth, allowing students to delve into the precise technical and artistic fields that shape the future of the digital industry. Our curricula cover a wide spectrum of modern specializations, ranging from User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) engineering and design, and 3D modeling and animation, through digital game programming and design, to the development of Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) applications. Through this methodological diversity, students acquire the ability to build interactive systems and integrated visual environments that perfectly combine visual aesthetics, seamless software performance, and engineering precision.
We foster a stimulating educational environment that focuses on applied learning and practical projects within laboratories equipped with the latest technologies. Our ultimate goal is to prepare highly qualified female engineers and leaders who possess a critical artistic eye and advanced technical skills. They are empowered to manage projects and innovate purposeful digital products that leave a positive impact and compete strongly in both local and international job markets. All of this is crowned by a steadfast commitment to the authentic professional values and ethics inspired by the mission-driven identity of our university, ensuring that our graduates become active and influential contributors to the service and development of their community.
Department Vision
To be a recognized leader in educating and advancing digital design engineers who create interactive, human-centered digital products and experiences that are technically robust, visually coherent, and measurably effective. The department aims to contribute to national and regional innovation by producing graduates and applied outcomes that improve the quality, accessibility, and usability of digital systems.
Department Message
To deliver an engineering education that integrates digital design with strong computing and
engineering foundations, enabling students to conceive, design, implement, test, and deploy interactive systems such as applications, websites, games, and digital media experiences. The
department develops students’ capabilities in UI/UX and HCI, real-time graphics and engines,
software engineering practices and quality assurance, and data-informed evaluation, while promoting professionalism, ethics, teamwork, and continuous learning aligned with evolving industry standards.
